What can the Man of Steel teach us?
We might feel we don’t have a lot in common with Superman. After all, thus far, none of us have demonstrated super strength, flight, laser vision or any of his other many powers.
But did you know that it is Superman who founded and leads the Justice League? Not because he is the most powerful but because he recognises that everyone has gifts and, most often, accepting help will make you better. This is a great lesson in humility.
A good team member values others – they know what they can bring to the table AND they recognise the strengths, skills and values of all the other people on their team. They are willing to ask for and accept help, as well as offer it. And embrace the team with a celebratory, not competitive spirit.
That’s what Superman teaches us – no matter how awesome you are, a humble attitude will make you even greater!
