When he’s first invited to the league, Green Arrow says no. He reasons that he’s just one guy, no special powers, trying to do the right thing and take care of the little guy. As Batman explains to him, that is the exact reason the team needs him.
It’s a big ask for one person to consider all viewpoints, perspectives and possibilities. But with a team? Well, now a project can really get going.
The best teams work together to think about, not just the big picture but to also think about the individuals who will be affected.
Think of it this way – someone’s thinking about how to manage the invading alien army (like Superman), someone’s looking out for their city (like Green Arrow) and (if I may mix my superheroes for a moment) there is also your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman taking care of the guy next door. A great team has perspective.
