I spend all day at work – why on earth would I want to watch the same in my free time?
We get it, valid question. However, sometimes it is the familiar that can make us laugh the hardest. No matter what kind of work you do, whether you like your job or not, here are some of our favourite tv shows set in the workplace that we recommend for humorous moments in your downtime.
-
The I.T Crowd – The comedic misadventures of Roy, Moss and their grifting supervisor Jen, a rag-tag team of IT support workers at a large corporation headed by a hotheaded yuppie. Only one thing to say – “Have your tried turning it off and on again?”
-
Utopia – Comedy set inside the offices of the “Nation Building Authority”, a newly created government organization responsible for overseeing major infrastructure projects. “Blue sky thinking,” “Jim!” “The silver emu,” and so many hilarious moments.
-
Parks and Recreation – The absurd antics of an Indiana town’s public officials as they pursue sundry projects to make their city a better place. “Here are all my ideas. I’ve put them in my idea binders” – I relate. And who doesn’t love Ron Swanson?!
- Mythic Quest – a new find for my husband and I and we loved it! A humorous and realistic look at the way workplace relationships build and evolve and the marvellous, weird and quirky bonds that can develop between people who spend WAY too much time together.
